The latest news from Shropshire Festivals
2019 has been a busy year so far! We have installed a dragon at Ludlow Castle, trolls at Hawkstone Follies, provided hospitality for a prestigious tennis tour, launched a new festival, as well as organising Field to Fork, Kids Festival, Shrewsbury Food Festival, Shropshire Oktoberfest, Shropshire BizFest and a host of local events. We have also been busy providing consultancy, PR, marketing, design and social media for a range of local businesses. Needless to say, it’s been a productive year so far!
The cherry on the cake (and we love cake) is the flurry of award news we’ve received.
Shropshire Festivals has been shortlisted for the Midlands Best Rural Tourism Business category of the Rural Business Awards 2019/20 and recognised by SME News’ 2019 Business Elite for ‘Excellence in Events PR Consultancy’ and as 'Leaders in Event Management.'
We have been crowned Best Rural Community Hospitality Company in England by the LUX Global Hospitality Awards 2019!
And our founder, Beth Heath, has been shortlisted as a regional finalist for the Female Entrepreneur award at the FL National Awards & Summit 2019.
Beth comments, “It’s amazing to have so much recognition for our work in Shropshire. Our festivals attracted over 80,000 visitors last year, yet we are just a small hard-working team, based in an outbuilding on a farm.
“I am very lucky to have a brilliant core team, incredibly supportive family and friends, and lots of local supporters - without which the business would not exist. We are crossing all of our fingers and toes for the final stages of these awards – wish us luck!”
For the third year running the Shrewsbury Food Festival was named the ‘Best Food Festival in the Midlands’ at the What’s On Readers’ Awards 2019. Shropshire Festivals was also a finalist in the Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality category for the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards 2019.
Here’s to all our hard work paying off (and for more opportunities to eat celebratory cake!)
